In an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Lutz Klaehre, Chief Operating Officer Rhine-Main talks about the residential property market in Frankfurt, high prices and cooperation between government and business.
Interest in premium-priced properties in Frankfurt remains high. Luxury, service and prestige are important to foreign investors – and property developers meet the growing demand.
In the luxury segment, Lutz Klaehre notes the slowing dynamic in price development. The market continues to grow, however, the growth rate has declined and it takes longer now to sell a property.
In general, the residential property market in Frankfurt is still booming. The imbalance between the supply and demand for housing remains the same. No significant price reduction is expected in the near future.
Political interventions, such as the controversial new rent control law in Berlin, do not affect investors interested in Frankfurt. The cooperation between government and business in Frankfurt remains constructive: politicians are now looking for contacts with national and international investors, especially from Asia.
